Gerardo Provenzano

Born in Río de la Plata, in the culture of tango, football and freedom of expression, in the 60s. Influenced by rock, underground culture, postmodernist literature, martial arts, psychoanalysis and cinema of the 60s and 70s. He became a seeker from his early teens in Latin America in those years. That leads him to study psychology after leaving the world of medicine. He researches and studies Oriental philosophy and delves into the world of the body and Gestalt together with Freud, Jung, Lacan and Pichon Riviere. Together with them, he discovers the River Plate art and literature, a mixture of the autochthonous with the European of Galeano, Cortazar, Borges, Benedetti, Quiroga, along with Sensei Akamine, Sensei Zenko Heshiki, Sensei Richard Fuchs and Sensei Eduardo Castro´s  zen philosophy of Karate Do.

In the 80s rock disappears and he begins to connect with the new musical wave where he discovers Kosen Tibaut´s world of Zen, Sensei Tokuda´s Zen and Shiatzu , Master Liu Pai Lin, Fong Zhi Quian and Master Pedro Valencia´s Chi kung and Tai chi, Graciela Figueroa´s Rio Abierto Dance Movement , Rolando Toro´s Biodanza (Dance of Life),  Hatha yoga, Swami Brahmananda Giri´s Kriya Yoga, Gabrielle Roth´s Five Rhythms, Mabel Allerand´s Transpersonal Gestalt, Fedora Aberasturi´s The Conscious System for the Movement Technique, Wilhelm Reich´s Orgonomic Therapy , to end his therapeutic journey with Lowen´s  Bioenergetic Analysis. He began to lead body-mind movement groups, psychological work and expression in Buenos Aires and Montevideo, along with the management of individual patients in both countries.

In the old European world he will develop his therapeutic work with Claudio Naranjo and his SAT program, with his Live Gestalt, the world of therapeutic Enneagram, Buddhist Meditation and Entheogens or Psychedelics. He studies philosophy in Spain and begins to develop therapeutic expressive writing. Alternately he connects with other healing therapeutic influences for the inner child and the mask, such as Norberto Levy´s Psychological Self-Assistance, John Pierrakos´ Core Energétics with Jaime Guillén and Ilse Kretszchmar Rieckmann, Luis Pelayo´s Persontherapy, David and Sylvia Boadella´s Biosynthesis, Stanley Keleman´s Somatic Psychology, Janov´s Primal Scream, among others.

At present his therapeutic work of body-mind integration continues in Europe and Latin America. Focused on discovering the traps of character or Ego traps, he is now closer to the teachings of G. Gurdjieff´s Fourth Way and the heterodoxy of C. Naranjo, along with Epicurus´  Greek philosophy and Pirron´s Skepticism. At the same time he teaches the art of psychotherapy in various body-oriented psychotherapy training workshops and manages individual «self-seeking patients».
